OREANDA-NEWS. The Minister of Health and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan Almykadyr Beishenaliev drank a tincture of the poisonous plant Aconite to prove the safety of this drug, which he proposes to use for the treatment of COVID-19.

According to TASS, Beishenaliev said that he personally prepares a solution of the drug with which the republic's doctors have cured 300 patients since the fall of 2020.

The head of the country's Ministry of Health said that the tincture should be drunk only hot and for patients with a mild form of covid, the drug helps within 2-3 days, and for patients with a severe course of the disease, it takes 3-4 days.

The World Health Organization (WHO) reacted with caution to Beishenaliev's statement, noting that it was considered premature to use aconite tincture to treat COVID-19 infected people before clinical trials.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adan Ghebreyesus told reporters that the world is approaching the highest rate of coronavirus infection in a pandemic. According to him, over the past two months, there has been an almost two-fold weekly increase in the number of infected.

More than 139.2 million people have been infected with covid in different countries of the world, almost 119 million have recovered, about 3 million have died.
