OREANDA-NEWS The Russian Federation is ready not only to export agricultural products, primarily grain and leguminous crops, but also to support partners with agricultural technologies to ensure food security on their own.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the head of the department Oksana Lut stated this at the plenary session of the III international forum Global Grain and Pulses Forum 2025 in Dubai on Tuesday.
We are also talking about the supply of seeds, plant protection products, machinery and mineral fertilizers.
Lut confirmed that the grain harvest in Russia in 2024 is estimated at 130 million tons. "It is expected that after the calculation by the end of 2024, the harvest will amount to 130 million tons. This completely covers domestic needs and allows us to maintain a high export potential. It is expected that Russia will send 55-57 million tons of grain to foreign markets this season," she said.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture stressed that the Russian Federation has retained the first place in the supply of wheat to the world market, and noted the increased interest in Russian leguminous crops. Last season, 4.2 million tons were exported, including 3.2 million tons of peas, which made Russia a leader in the global market in the supply of these products.
In total, Russian grain was supplied to 109 countries in 2024. 70% of the volume traditionally came from the Middle East and Africa. At the same time, the geography of exports is expanding - 11 new countries have joined the cooperation, and seven more have resumed trade with the Russian Federation.
Luth stressed that, despite global challenges, Russia is ready to fulfill all obligations to supply products and technologies to strengthen global food security.
