Previously, the auditors of the accounts chamber based on the analysis of indicators of the quality of execution of territorial programs, such as reducing the mortality rate of the population in working age, reducing maternal and infant mortality, increasing the level of satisfaction of the population with medical care and others, came to the conclusion that no region has reached them all. The press service of the accounts chamber reported that the audit in 19 regions in 2017 recorded an increase in infant mortality relative to 2016. According to the accounts chamber, the largest increase was found in the Republic of Adygea (45.7%), Murmansk (38.5%) and Novgorod regions (31.8%).
The Ministry of Нealth noted that in 2017 infant mortality increased in 23 subjects, but in eight of them it was already below the national level. "In such cases, the figure is not possible because of significant growth in the number of deaths, and the reason for the decline in the number of births (because the rate is calculated per 1,000 live births) or in connection with the operation of the law of small numbers, when even one death increases the relative number of deaths," - said the press service of the Ministry.
According to the Ministry, from these 23 regions in January-October 2018, infant mortality decreased in 18 subjects, remained unchanged in three subjects and increased in two subjects, and to a level below the Russian average.
