The EU Launches Electronic Vaccination Passport
The European electronic solution (EU Gateway) for the mutual recognition of coronavirus certificates, which allows EU member states to mutually recognize vaccination passports issued by other countries, will be operational from 1 June, and Estonia is going to join it the following week.
All member states must join this decision no later than July 1, according to the European Commission in Estonia, reports rus.err.ee.
"Estonia has taken various preparations in recent months to accept three electronic certificates of COVID-19 that beseem EU requirements: vaccination certificate, negative PCR test and past disease based on a positive PCR test," the e-services advisor told ERR and innovations of the Ministry of Social Affairs Aurora Ursula Joala.
According to her, the certificates beseeming the new requirements will be available on the patient portal digilugu.ee by the middle of next week.
People who have already managed to issue a vaccination certificate on the patient portal will receive instructions on how to bring the certificate in line with the requirements.
