OREANDA-NEWS. According to experts, the entire Russian electronics market will soon feel the rise in prices. This is due to a shortage of semiconductors. First of all, game consoles and accessories will become more expensive. According to Andrey Tishchenko, Deputy Director of the Department of Computing Systems at CROC, the shortage of chips will also affect the cost of other consumer equipment. Tishchenko expects that in the coming months, smartphones, laptops and other equipment will rise in price in the range of 20-30 percent.
"If earlier companies could predict the demand and consumption of semiconductors, microprocessors and other components for various types of equipment, then during the coronavirus everything went wrong," experts report.
Earlier, specialists of the analytical company Canalys recorded record sales of smartphones in the first quarter of the year worldwide — 347 million units. At the same time, due to the shortage of semiconductors, the cost of production is likely to increase in the future.
The main reason for this price jump is associated with an increase in purchase prices in China - by more than 10-15%. Transportation and transportation issues are also a problem. China, in turn, is raising prices in response to US anti-China sanctions, higher prices for procurement materials, and its own logistics problems.
