Russian Scientists have Found a Way to Stop Lung Cancer
To test the functionality of the detected protein, scientists grew several cultures of cancerous tumors and tracked how they interact with Lynx1.
It turned out that this protein suppresses the development of the tumor, preventing cancer cells from actively multiplying. For three days, the size of the colony treated with an aqueous protein solution significantly decreased.
It is not yet known exactly how the protein blocks the life cycle of cancer cells, but experts hope that a further study of Lynx1 will help create a drug that would protect consumers of tobacco smoke from lung cancer and other types of tumors arising from smoking.
