Russian Doctor Spoke about the Increased Severity of COVID-19 in Patients
OREANDA-NEWS. The Perm doctor spoke about repeated cases of COVID-19 in those who had been ill, and also noted that the virus had become more infectious, the severity rate of patients had increased. This is reported by "Komsomolskaya Pravda" with reference to the head physician of the Perm regional clinical hospital Anatoly Kasatov.
He said that the hospital has 256 beds, of which 237 are occupied, 21 patients are in intensive care, 19 are connected to ventilators.
“Now not only people 60+, but 30-40-year-olds are seriously ill. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have treated 7,000 patients, and we can already draw some conclusions. Those who were treated in our clinic last year began to get sick,” the doctor said.
Kasatov noted that no severe pulmonary lesions were observed in those who were vaccinated.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, said that approximately 2.5 percent of those vaccinated are infected with COVID-19 after vaccination, while hospitalization is not required in 95 percent of cases.
Over the past day, 24,471 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Russia. The total number of cases in the country since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic was 6,054,711.
