Russia will test the Amur-LNG rocket in 2025-2028

OREANDA-NEWS Russia will test the reusable first stage of the Amur-LNG rocket in 2025-2028, and it is planned to complete the development of the complex by 2030, said the head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov.
"We have already started building the Amur-LNG space rocket complex. This is the first Russian project of a reusable methane-fueled medium-range rocket... We hope to complete this development by 2030," Borisov said at the plenary session of the Royal Readings at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
He specified that the new rocket will be equipped with a returnable first stage, it will be launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome.
According to the slide presented by Borisov, work on creating an experimental sample of a reusable first stage and conducting tests based on it is planned for 2025-2028.
The first launch of the Russian Amur-LNG methane rocket with a returnable first stage should take place in 2030, Denis Manturov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said in April 2024. The design of the rocket started in 2020. Borisov noted that the first stage of the reusable Amur-LNG rocket can be launched into space more than 50 times.
