OREANDA-NEWS. Work on the creation of a supersensitive test for coronavirus was completed by the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor. This was stated by the head of the department Anna Popova at a meeting of the presidium of the coordinating council for the fight against coronavirus.

Specialists of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor have completed work on a new test system that will be more resistant to the emergence of new mutations and will also be more sensitive. This is already its own development using the CRISPR/Cas methodology,” Popova said.

According to her, thanks to this test system, doctors will be able to make a diagnosis already between the incubation period of the virus and the disease, the head of the department noted. In addition, Russian scientists have developed a laboratory technique for determining the Delta genovariants by two mutations and Omicron by four mutations, Popova concluded.
