RAS Academician Advises COVID-19 Sufferers to Read Aloud

OREANDA-NEWS. Coronavirus patients should read aloud for 15 minutes every hour to restore respiratory muscles. This was stated by Leo Bokeria, President of the Bakoulev National Medical Research Centre for Cardiovascular Surgery, President of the all-Russian public organization League of the Nation's Health, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
"I have advised many of my friends and acquaintances, when they fell ill, to read any text aloud for 15 minutes at one hour and 15 minutes,"- he said.
According to him, it is important for a person who has had a coronavirus to get the respiratory muscles, particularly the intercostal muscles, working well. In this context, the read-aloud method is the most effective, Bokeria believes.
"You can even read the description of the refrigerator to make it less disgusting,"- advised the specialist.
Last August, Khadijat Omarova, head of clinical research at the Rospotrebnadzor Central Research Institute of Epidemiology, said those who wish to recover more quickly from the coronavirus should exercise and stick to their usual routine of waking and sleeping. Also, those who have recovered from the disease should eat protein-rich food, and eat seasonal fruit and vegetables.
