OREANDA-NEWS  The production of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine has begun in Argentina. This information came from the Russian Direct Investment Fund.

The report notes that RDIF and the pharmaceutical company Laboratorios Richmond SACIF have announced the production of the first batch of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in Argentina. Full production of the Sputnik V vaccine in Argentina is expected to begin in June.

RDIF and partners have carried out a technology transfer for Laboratorios Richmond, the first batch will be delivered to N.F. Gamalea for drug quality control.

Argentina was the first Latin American country to officially register Sputnik V on its territory. Registration was carried out under an expedited procedure. Vaccination with a Russian drug in Argentina began on December 29, 2020.

The vaccine produced in Argentina can later be exported to other countries in Central and Latin America.
