OREANDA-NEWS. Famous Russian doctor and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov spoke about the timing and reasons for the onset of a new wave of COVID-19 in Russia.

According to him, many countries are inclined to explain the weakening of the coronavirus by the measures introduced, but, he is sure, the restrictions were in effect even at those moments when the morbidity and mortality reached their peak.

The specialist emphasized that the next increase in the number of cases in Russia will most likely be associated with the wavy nature of the infectious process itself, and it will come with the end of spring, that is, three to four months after the decline observed today.

Myasnikrov noted that maybe people will be lucky in the summer and there will be no increase in the incidence, but in the fall it is absolutely possible to expect a new wave of coronavirus, he said in an interview with Vechernyaya Moskva.

According to the doctor and TV presenter, right now, in a downturn, it is necessary to carry out a large-scale vaccination in order to protect oneself for the next wave. The medic believes that all previous efforts to combat the virus were in fact futile, and vaccination was the first truly serious measure.
