Mortality from Tuberculosis Has Decreased Almost Four Times in Russia
OREANDA-NEWS The chance of death from tuberculosis decreased by 3.8 times from 2005 to 2018, according to the report “The epidemic situation of tuberculosis in Russia in 2018” on the website of the Central Research Institute for Informatization of the Population of the Ministry of Health of the country.
According to the document, Russians were almost 10 times less likely to die from tuberculosis last year, unlike 2017.
As noted, the peak deaths from this disease is recognized as the age of 35-44 years. It is also known that about 77% of men and 60% of women die from tuberculosis before they retire from working age.
“The TB epidemic is improving in Russia,” the report emphasizes.
