OREANDA-NEWS  Russian scientists have created a material that can stop arterial bleeding in 40 seconds. "The newspaper.Ru" at the Institute of Biomedical Systems and Biotechnologies of SPbPU, they told that the unique material chitosan was taken as a basis.

Non-toxic material has biocompatibility, hemostatic, bactericidal and antibacterial properties. Chitosan is obtained by processing seafood from crab shells and shrimp.
