Experts : Coronavirus Turns into Mild Illness

OREANDA-NEWS In April 2020, the UK Office for National Statistics launched a survey of people affected by the coronavirus to determine the likelihood of reinfection. Of the 19,470 people they studied between April 2020 and July 2021, only 195, or 1%, contracted the infection for the second time.
Experts noted that the obtained results indicate that immunity - both from vaccinations and from natural infections - works. When people reinfect with coronavirus infection, only a small percentage of patients experience symptoms. They have a reduced risk of severe infection and death from it. The likelihood of transmission of the virus is also reduced, reports UfacityNews.ru.
"I don't think this is because the virus has become less virulent, it has more to do with the host immunity generated after infection", - said Professor Jonathan Ball, a virologist at the University of Nottingham.
