Doctor Explained Which Vitamins Help the Body to Resist «Omicron»
OREANDA-NEWS To combat the new «omicron» strain of coronavirus, it is best to take vitamins C and D, said Vladislav Shafalinov, MD. At the same time, the doctor was skeptical about taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, writes Russian media Tsargrad.
«Although a number of scientists believe that there is no representative data that it's deficiency leads to increased morbidity, but at the same time, a number of my friends and colleagues believe that it is due to vitamin D deficiency. That is, it is necessary to use vitamin D», Shafalinov explained.
He also added that antibiotics and even antiviral drugs may not always be useful against infection. Shafalinov recommended first of all to give up bad habits, normalize sleep and lead a healthy lifestyle.
«Omicron» strain of coronavirus has been detected in six more regions of Russia over the past day. As of the morning of January 21, only 24 subjects have not officially confirmed it. Earlier, virologist Yevgeny Timakov said that the peak incidence of coronavirus in Russia will be in mid-February. He also suggested that the real incidence rate in the country is slightly higher than it is reflected in official data. In those who have previously had coronavirus or been vaccinated, infection with the «omicron» strain manifests itself in the form of mild symptoms, including a runny nose, sore throat and minor malaise, and those infected do not attach much importance to this.
