Coronavirus has Reduced the Life Expectancy of Russians
OREANDA-NEWS. The life expectancy of Russians has decreased due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to TASS, this was announced at a meeting of the collegium of the ministry by the head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko.
At the same time, he recalled that infant mortality has reached a historical minimum in the entire history of Russia and the Soviet Union.
The minister believes that the country was able to avoid a dramatic scenario for the development of the COVID-19 epidemic, but it is too early to sum up the final results. According to him, restrictive sanitary measures in the Russian Federation must be maintained until at least 60% of the population is immune to covid.
Speaking about his colleagues who contracted a coronavirus infection while on duty, Murashko said that so far they have received more than 29 billion rubles in insurance payments.
In total, with the onset of the pandemic in Russia, 4,684,148 cases of COVID-19 infection were noted, 4,310,557 people were cured, and 104,795 died.
More than 139.2 million people have become infected in different countries of the world, almost 119 million have recovered, and about 3 million have died.
