Cases of infection are also recorded in the United States, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Ten cities in Central China were closed by the authorities. The largest of them is Wuhan, where there was an outbreak of the disease, with a population of 12 million people. The authorities imposed a ban on travel in public transport, limited bus, rail and air services to neighboring cities. Most entertainment facilities have stopped working.
In Russia, so far there has not been a single reliably recorded case of the disease. This week, several passengers arriving from China were urgently hospitalized with suspected viral pneumonia, but the diagnosis wasn't confirmed.
