Daktronics: the University of Mississippi has asked the company to provide four new LED video displays for Vaught-Hemingway Stadium
OREANDA-NEWS. Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, announced today the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) has asked the company to provide four new LED video displays for Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in University, Mississippi, as part of a campus-wide project bring a total of 11 new video displays to the campus. Seven sports and eight campus facilities are impacted by the project.
"This project is a key part of improving the overall fan experience at multiple venues across our entire campus, and we're excited to partner with Daktronics to make it happen," said Ross Bjork, Ole Miss Director of Athletics. "We're constantly striving to provide the best for our student-athletes and fans, and this new equipment is as dynamic and engaging as any in the country. We're looking forward to the fall sports seasons kicking off to see everything in action."
Vaught-Hemingway Stadium will feature a new LED video display and audio system from Daktronics in 2016. A total of 9,415 square feet of LED displays comprised of 7.3 million LEDs inserted into more than 6,500 modules will bring live video, instant replays, crowd prompts, game stats and sponsor messaging to Rebels football fans on game day.
The new main display in the north end zone measures 48 feet high by 104.5 feet wide and the two new displays in the south end zone each measure 30 feet high by 49 feet wide. These displays feature 13HD pixel layouts and join the previously installed 15HD pixel layout ribbon display along the seating fascia within the stadium. The ribbon display measures 3.5 feet high by 403 feet wide.
Included in the stadium project, new audio equipment is installed for the 2016 season, including 33 large speakers, 302 JBL outdoor loudspeakers, 60 four-channel amplifiers and seven digital processers. This system will provide thumping, full-range sound while also delivering clear speech from announcers for a complete and powerful audio experience.
