New Managing Director appointment at Legal Eye
Paul is a qualified legal professional who has a strong reputation across the industry and a clear track record of delivering business growth. He has a wealth of industry experience and will help develop Legal Eye's presence with a view to further strengthening quality and risk management as a central element of ULS's eConveyancing value proposition. Paul will leave his current role as Partner at law firm, Shakespeare Martineau LLP, where he is currently a Member of the Real Estate Property Group Board with primary responsibility for residential conveyancing and remortgage work. Paul will join the Legal Eye team on or before the 7th of November 2016.
ULS acquired Legal Eye in 2015 to help the Company grow its share of conveyancing work with mortgage lenders and to provide compliance and governance oversight of the Company's partner conveyancing firms. As a result, ULS is winning new conveyancing agreements with lenders and is benefiting from a clear competitive advantage in this sector, where lenders are now required to hold an increased level of knowledge about their third party relationships, under the Financial Conduct Authority's regulatory regime and its general outsourcing requirements rules.
Jaunita Gobby will step down from her current role in the first half of 2017, once a successful handover has been completed.
Commenting on the new appointment, Ben Thompson, CEO of ULS Technology said; "We are excited about this new appointment and what it means for Legal Eye and its team and very much look forward to now investing towards a new growth strategy. Paul brings with him a unique set of skills combining relevant and qualified legal and compliance experience, entrepreneurial flair and a clear track record of business growth. This is a perfect fit for Legal Eye and the plans we hold at ULS. We look forward to welcoming Paul into the Group at the end of October."
Incoming Managing Director, Paul Saunders, said; "There is clear and sizeable upside for Legal Eye as a business in a market where there is an ever increasing focus on quality, legal compliance and heightened levels of governance. Legal Eye is perfectly positioned to help law firms to operate cost effectively to the various standards required and I really look forward to spreading the word about how Legal Eye can help law firms, and growing the number of firms that Legal Eye helps. I also look forward to working closely with ULS to make further gains in its share of lender conveyancing, which is already gathering some momentum."
