DeVry Education Group awarded $1 million in scholarships to more than 600 students for the 2016–2017 academic year
OREANDA-NEWS. The DeVry Education Group Scholarship Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization, today awarded $1 million in scholarships to more than 600 students for the 2016–2017 academic year.
Each scholarship recipient has completed two semesters toward a degree program at a participating DeVry Group institution, exhibited a successful academic track record and demonstrated financial need. Over the past four years, the Scholarship Fund has awarded $2,465,000 to nearly 1,600 students.
“Receiving this scholarship confirms for me that I am on the right educational and career path,” said Simone Clarett, a scholarship recipient and student at DeVry University. “I am a true believer that learning is a lifelong process; I am excited to achieve education excellence and be an example to others.”
“I am so honored to be a recipient of this scholarship,” said scholarship recipient Kelley Christen, a student at Ross University School of Medicine. “This award comes at the perfect time to help me through the huge financial burden of residency application season, but to me it is about even more than that.”
“We are proud to help our students pursue their educational and career goals,” said Tom Babel, chairman of the Scholarship Fund and vice president of regulatory affairs at DeVry Group. “Through the generous support of DeVry Education Group corporate supporters, colleagues and alumni, we are able to make a difference in the lives of deserving students.”
The Scholarship Fund, founded in 2000, operates in concert with DeVry Group institutions, including American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, Carrington College, Chamberlain College of Nursing, DeVry University, Ross University School of Medicine and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.
