OREANDA-NEWS. Science policy leader Marjory S. Blumenthal has been appointed director of the Science, Technology, and Policy program at the nonprofit RAND Corporation, officials announced today.
Blumenthal previously served as executive director of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, where she coordinated policy recommendations in such areas as technology and cities, big data and privacy, private-sector adaptation to climate change, STEM education and advanced manufacturing.
“Marjory Blumenthal is a national leader in forging the nation's science and technology agenda,” said Anita Chandra, director of the RAND Justice, Infrastructure, and Environment program. “We expect she will help broaden RAND's research portfolio role and attract new talent.”
The RAND Science, Technology and Policy program provides research and policy analysis in the areas of space exploration, information and communication technologies, nano- and biotechnologies, citizen science and related areas. Blumenthal will be located in the RAND Washington office.
