Apple Music Introduces its New Functions : Dolby Atmos and Lossless
The users who have installed the latest iOS, iPadOS and macOS updates will be able to try out the new items. To connect new functions, it is need to open the settings, go to the "Music" section, and then select Dolby Atmos. Spatial audio is automatically turned on by default when iPhones or other Apple devices are connected to AirPods or Beats.
To test the Lossless format, users must also go to the settings, then go to the "Music" section, select "Sound quality" and activate the "Lossless audio files" function.
At the moment, not all songs in the Apple Music library support both formats. The company confirmed that only 20 million songs in Lossless format and “thousands of tracks” with Dolby Atmos are available to users of the application. The Apple officials say the entire Apple Music catalog of over 75 million tracks will be available in Lossless format by the end of 2021.
People can listen to audio files in lossless audio quality on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV 4K. Lossless audio files take up significantly more space when downloaded.
