An innovative UAV impact protection system has been successfully tested in Russia

OREANDA-NEWS Russian scientists have developed and successfully tested an innovative system for protecting various objects using special cables and high-strength mesh that withstand the load of a concrete block weighing several tons when attacking aircraft-type attack drones, according to the materials of one of the institutes dealing with security issues, which RIA Novosti has reviewed.
The calculation of scientists in creating an innovative protection system was based on the tactical and technical characteristics of the main foreign aircraft-type attack drones with a take-off weight of up to 60 kilograms, a flight speed of 110 to 150 kilometers per hour, a practical ceiling of 6 thousand meters, a payload of 20-29 kilograms, a fuselage length of 2.8 meters, and a wingspan of up to 4.8 meters.
The result of the research was an innovative technical solution - the creation of a cable–mesh system to protect important infrastructure from the growing threat associated with the use of drones in various fields.
