A tropical fish from Australia was unexpectedly spotted in Russia
An unusual fish swam into Valentine Bay, after which it washed ashore. An eyewitness's picture shows a sun man lying on the sand. It has an oval silvery body, strongly compressed from the sides, and a retractable jaw.
In a conversation with KP.EN Experts from the National Center for Marine Biology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences said that this fish is very rare in the Far Eastern region, as it usually lives in warm waters from Japan to Australia and New Zealand. At the same time, scientists claim that gradually it may become more in the Russian region against the background of global warming.
A flock of rare Pacific tropical fish hunting for saury has also recently been spotted in the Sikhote-Alin Nature Reserve. Scientists said that fish unusual for this area usually lives near the Philippines and in Mexico.
At the end of June, in Primorye, amateurs caught a puffer fish — this is a poisonous southern fish, which is very rare for local waters. Meanwhile, in Dalnegorsk, a local resident caught a Sakhalin sturgeon.
