Oracle Signs Agreement with Midwestern Higher Education Compact
OREANDA-NEWS. Following a competitive sourcing event, Oracle today announced that it has been awarded a contract by the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC). Effective immediately, the contract provides discounts on Oracle Cloud, licenses, hardware, education, consulting and support services for public and not-for-profit colleges and universities across MHEC’s 12 member states.
The contract also extends to MHEC’s sister compacts: the New England Board of Higher Education, the Southern Regional Education Board, and the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education.
“We are extremely pleased to have signed a contract with Oracle,” said MHEC President Larry Isaak. “MHEC anticipates significant cost savings for higher education institutions throughout not only our Midwest region, but nationally, as this contract provides an easier path for purchasing needed Oracle products.”
Through the use of the Compact’s programs and contracts, public and private not-for-profit education institutions, school districts, state and local governments, and students have achieved significant cost savings and also benefit from collective knowledge and best practice solutions.
“MHEC and its sister compacts have provided exceptional value to their member states and institutions for many years and we are proud to collaborate with them to deliver leading solutions to our mutual customers,” said Jim Zemaitis, vice president, Oracle Higher Education and Research. “Our new agreement offers even more product and services to higher education institutions that can be consumed rapidly at exceptional price points, with a competitively-awarded contract and negotiated pricing. We have jointly accelerated the value we can provide to the academic, administrative and research areas in support of the students, faculty and staff.”
