OREANDA-NEWS.The board of International Iron and Steel Institute (IISI) approved Metinvest (Ukraine) to be its permanent member. IISI's mission is to provide a forum for the world steel industry to address major strategic issues and challenges it faces on a global basis. It also facilitates the benchmarking of best-practice amongst its members in all aspects of the steel business. IISI members produce around 75% of the world's steel (excluding China).

Millennium Capital's experts highly appreciate IISI membership as a positive image issue for Metinvest. It should also promote a deeper integration of Ukraine's steel industry into the world steel community.
