World Production of Crude Steel Increased by 9,9% in January-April
OREANDA-NEWS. The International Iron and Steel Institute has reported the data according to which the world production of crude steel has made 428 million 708 thousand tons in January-April 2007 that exceeded parameters of January-April 2006 at the rate of 390 million 38 thousand tons by 9,9 %.
In Asia crude steel production has made 233 million 527 thousand tons (15,7 %), in China - 155 million 93 thousand tons (21,2 %), in Japan - 39 million 267 thousand tons (5,1 %).
In 27 EU countries crude steel production for January-April 2007 has made 72 million 519 thousand tons (5,2 %).
CIS countries produced 41 million 462 thousand tons of steel (8,6 %).
Northern America manufactured 41 million 620 thousand tons of steel (-5,8 %). While the USA produced 31 million 454 thousand tons (-5,2 %).
In South America crude steel production made 15 million 519 thousand tons (7,9 %).
Africa made 6 million 102 thousand tons of steel (5,4 %).
In the Near East steel production totaled 5 million 155 thousand tons (3,8 %).
