OREANDA-NEWS. MMC Norilsk Nickel is a nickel and palladium mining and smelting operator. The company is the world's leading producer of nickel and palladium and is Russia's leading gold producer. It is ranked among the top four world platinum producers, in association with subsidiary Stillwater Mining Company of Billings, Montana Denver, Colorado. It is ranked among the top ten copper producers.

Norilsk Nickel plans to invest 34 bln. USD in development. CEO D.Morozov noted, that Norilsk Nickel wants to increase uplift of ore from 21 mln. tn. to 26 mln. tn. toward 2015. So it will “overinvest“ in compliance with its wish.

Norilsk Nickel plans to finish several projects such as clearing for operation mine “Skalisty”, “Severny-Gluboky” mine development and others.

Also Norilsk Nickel has sealed a bargain. It has bought nickel assets for 408 mln. USD from OM Group Inc.
