OREANDA-NEWS. OJSC “Power Machines” and OJSC “OGK-3” have executed contracts for upgrading the 300 MW turbogenerator of the fifth power block and for upgrading the 1200 MW turbine of the ninth power block of Kostromskaya TPP (the branch of OJSC “OGK-3”) which is one of the largest thermal power stations located in the central part of Russia.

In accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract OJSC “Power Machines” will upgrade on a turnkey basis the generator island, in particular, the rotor, stator (with full substitution of the active steel and winding) and the turbogenerator TBB-320 excitation system.

Additionally, the contract for upgrading one of the two low pressure cylinders of the world unique 1200 MW turbine (location No. 9) has been entered into. The work under the contract is to be completed by November 2009. Also, the conclusion of the contract for manufacturing and supply of the new medium pressure rotor for the turbine is expected in the near future.
