OREANDA-NEWS. The joint-stock company “Mining and Smelting Company “Norilskiy Nickel” has finished its own media holdings consolidation. All of the company’s media business of Krasnoyarsk Territory and Murmansk region is unification within “Media Platforma” group. The very process is the result of the JSC “Mining and Smelting Company “Norilskiy Nickel” reformation branch.

Based on the “Norilskiy Nickel” press service, on the beginning of 2007 the limited liability company “Sputnik” (Monchegorsk) was integrated into the media group. The LLC “Sputnik” publishes the corporative newspaper called “Kolskiy Nickel” for JSC “Kolskaya Mining and Smelting Company” (KMSC is the JSC “MSC “Norilskiy Nickel’s” subsidiary), and realizes the functions of the KMSC press service.

The unification of the LLC “Media Company “Severnyi Gorod” (the LLC “Media Platforma’s” subsidiary) and “Zapolyarnyi Vestnik” newspaper together with the printing plant (former parts of the MSC “Norilskiy Nickel’s” Trans-polar subsidiary) in Norilsk has become the final phase.
”The separation of “Nornickel’s” media holdings gives the company an opportunity to provide the neat control of the corresponding inputs and to solve the problems about the high-quality development of the media business. Besides, the new control scheme promotes the enlargement of the service at disposal, the flexible response for the market demands, the information products’ improving and the raising of the profit from the advertisements” – Sergey Chernitsyn, the chairman of board of LLC “Media Platforma’s” directors, the director of the public relations department of JSC “MSC “Norilskiy Nickel’s” declared.

LLC “Media Platforma” was founded in 2005 for “Norilskiy Nickel’s” mass communication media consolidation. The management company of the same name (Moscow), the LLC “Media Company “Severnyi Gorod” (Norilsk), the LLC “Broadcasting Corporation “Telesfera” (Krasnoyarsk), the JSC “Severo-Zapadnoe Veshchaniye” (Murmansk), the LLC “Sputnik” (Monchegorsk) are a part of the group. The group’s enterprises realize the broadcasting of three regional television channels, four radio stations, they publish the corporative magazine “Norilskiy Nickel”, they control the printing plant and distribute the information through the “Taymyrskiy Telegraph” agency. LLC “Media Platforma” operate in the regions with the JSC “MSC “Norilskiy Nickel’s” main production space (in Norilsk, Krasnoyarsk, Monchegorsk and Murmansk).

In 2006 the gain of the “Media Platforma” group was 140 million RUR, the forecast for 2007 is 280 million RUR. In 2006 the number of the enterprises’ workers was about 300 people and in 2007 it is 450. The growth is connected with the holdings integrations in Norilsk and Monchegorsk.
