OREANDA-NEWS. Revenues of RUSAL increased by 23% to US$8.18 billion compared to US$6.65 billion in 2005.

According to the press service of RUSAL, 2006 revenue from international sales rose over 40% to US$6.6 billion.

Revenue from sales in Russia reached US$1.6 billion, 14% higher than in 2005.

The company's net debt reached US$4.43 billion. The increase of the debt results from the preparation of the agreement to combine RUSAL, SUAL and Glencore alumina assets. The debt consists mainly of long-term instruments.

RUSAL's overall investments in its production assets during 2006 amounted to US$1.4 billion.

2006 was marked by a number of successful capital raising deals for RUSAL. In September, RUSAL attracted a record breaking syndicated facility of US$2 billion. This exceeded the amount originally sought by over 30%.

In December, RUSAL concluded a credit agreement for US$1 billion, under which the company attracted a US$674 million unsecured bridge loan to refinance the current debts of the company as well as to finance certain pre-agreed arrangements in anticipation of RUSAL's merger with SUAL Group and the alumina assets of Glencore.
