OREANDA-NEWS. Mechel OAO (NYSE: MTL), one of the leading vertically-integrated mining and metals companies, announced today its operational results for 2006.

According to the press-service of OJSC “Mechel”, in 2006 the company has made 17 million 13 thousand tons of coal (9 % against parameter of 2005), including 9 million 697 thousand tons of coked coal (13 %) and 7 million 316 thousand tons of power coal (4 %).

OJSC “Mechel” also has made 4 million 976 tons of iron ore concentrate (10 %), 14,4 thousand tons of nickel (14 %) 2 million 570 thousand tons of coke (-1 %), 3 million 631 thousand tons of pig-iron (8 %), 5 million 950 thousand tons of steel (1 %), 4 million 714 thousand tons of rolled products (2 %), 400 thousand tons of flat rolled products (28 %), 2 million 529 thousand tons of long rolled products (1 %), 1 million 785 thousand tons of semi-finished rolled products (0), 101 thousand tons of stamping (-3 %), 611 thousand tons of hardware (10 %).
