Bryansk Diesel Shunters to Be Sent to Africa
OREANDA-NEWS. The two TEM18EG diesel shunters manufactured by the Bryansk Engineering Plant were sent to Guinea (West Africa) in December 15, 2006.
According to the press service, the shunters were built by "ATG Oversis" order. They are of tropical version operating the corresponding diesel derivative. The latter features will prevent it from overheating in the damp and hot climate. The coatings and paints used are water and high temperature resistant. The power circuit comprises cables and wires designed for tropical climate.
The shunters will be transported to the shipping port on handling trolleys since the railroad gauge in Guinea is 1,435 mm unlike that of 1,520 in Russia. The in-service bogies will be delivered separately.
The Bryansk diesel shunters make the first set of equipment to be delivered to Guinea by Transmashholding. The contract was concluded in May, 2006.
