OREANDA-NEWS. In December 2006, Russia’s TransMashHolding JS Company has completed the deliveries on its contract to supply six three-car trains for Sophia metro in Bulgaria.

According to the TransMashHolding press service, the last of the six trains has been delivered to the customer. A three-car train includes two main cars of the 81-740.2 model and one intermediate car of the 81-741.2 model made by the MetroVagonMash company. The last train will enter service already in January 2007. 

All Bulgaria’s metro trains have been built in Russia. Currently, the metro in Sophia uses 48 cars of the 81-717 model and 12 cars of the 81-740.2/741.2 model build by MetroVagonMash.
