World Crude Steel Production Increased by 10,3% in November 2006
OREANDA-NEWS. The International Iron & Steel Institute has published the data according to which the world crude steel production in November 2006 has made 104 million 195 thousand tons that exceeded parameters of November 2005 by 10,3 %.
In Asia crude steel production has made 57 million 605 thousand tons (18,2 %), in China - 37 million 957 thousand tons (24,1 %), in Japan - 10 million 8 thousand tons (9,5 %), in South Korea - 4 million 141 thousand tons (0,7 %), in India - 3 million 783 thousand tons (10,1 %), in Taiwan - approximately 1 million 715 thousand tons (17,3 %).
Output of crude steel in 25 EU countries in November 2006 has made 16 million 327 thousand tons (2,5 %). Germany produced 3 million 924 thousand tons (9,2 %), in Italy - 2 million 829 thousand tons (8,2 %), in France - 1 million 606 thousand tons (-1,1 %), in Spain - nearby 1 million 615 thousand tons (10,3 %), in the Great Britain - 1 million 19 thousand tons (-7,1 %), in Belgium - 910 thousand tons (3,5 %).
In the CIS countries crude steel production has made 10 million 134 thousand tons of steel (5,1 %). In particular, Russia made 6 million 44 thousand tons (7,5 %), Ukraine - approximately 3 million 408 thousand tons (2,2 %).
North America produced 10 million 204 thousand tons of steel (-2,2 %). In the USA crude steel production made approximately 7 million 400 thousand tons (-5,5 %), in Mexico - approximately 1 million 400 thousand tons (8,3 %).
In South America output made 3 million 892 thousand tons (1,8 %). Brazil produced 2 million 705 thousand tons (2,6 %).
In Africa crude steel output totaled 1 million 380 thousand tons of steel (3 %). Near East produced 1 million 135 thousand tons (-10,4 %).
