OREANDA-NEWS. According to the preliminary data, in January-November 2006 the Ukrainian enterprises on operations with scrap ferrous metals have reduced export of scrap metal by 42,5 % - up to 686 thousand tons in comparison with analogous period of 2005.

In November 2006, export of scrap metal made 53,8 thousand tons.

The representative of association "UAVtormet" has noted that for 11 months of 2006 the metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine have been delivered 6,186 million tons of scrap metal, whereas for 11 months of 2005 - 5,774 million tons.

The representative of the Ministry of Industrial Policy of Ukraine has declared that metallurgical enterprises plan to increase volumes of manufacture in 2007 and have submitted applications for delivery of scrap metal at the rate of 8,780 million tons in this connection. However after the analysis of situation in the market the preliminary volume of deliveries of scrap metal to the metallurgical enterprises is determined at the rate of 7,660 million tons.

This year the maximal gathering of scrap metal a month made 630-640 thousand tons.

The president of “UAVtormet” Valentine Kulichenko at the balance meeting of representatives of enterprises of mining-metallurgical complex held on Wednesday ascertained that the volume of preparation of scrap metal in Ukraine is decreasing day by day. At the same time, export takes just insignificant volumes - for the last five years export of scrap metal has decreased in eight times.
