OREANDA-NEWS. The Board of Directors of the OAO "TMK" has been awarded a special prize of the Independent Directors Association’s Supervisory Board and management as part of the Director of the Year 2006 National Award. The award was established jointly by the Independent Directors Association and PricewaterhouseCoopers with support from VympelCom.

According to the press service of TMK, the award jury praised the TMK Board of Directors’ contribution to the preparation and conduct of the IPO and conferred on it a prize of the Independent Directors Association’s Supervisory Board and management.

Established in 2006, the Director of the Year National Award is aimed at improving corporate governance in Russia, implement best practices in line with international standards, and promote implementation of board of directors best practices.
