OREANDA-NEWS. By 2010 China will increase steel production by 42% of the world volume from 31% in the end of 2005. This was the statement of Citigroup Investment Research.

China is completely provided with own coal and coke, but is importing up to 60% of iron and needs new production capacities.

For the time being China produces 33,4% of the world volume of steel.
