OREANDA-NEWS. Mechel OAO (NYSE: MTL), a leading Russian integrated mining and steel group, today announced results for the nine months ended September 30, 2006. Net profit of Mechel under US GAAP for the third quarter made $190,453 million, or 167,9% more than analogous parameter of the last year that has totalled $71,093 million.

According to the press service of OJSC “Mechel”, proceeds for the period under review increased by 46,2% up to $1,215 billion from $831,175 million.

EBITDA increased by 121,4% up to $323,799 million from $146,275 million, EBITDA margin – up to 26,6% from 17,6% and the net operational income – by 205,1% up to $273,499 million from $89,631 million.
