OREANDA-NEWS. The new TEM21 diesel locomotives with in an induction motor drive produced by the Bryansk Engineering Plant will be fitted with the 5-36DG sophisticated diesel-generators (derivative of the 8ChN26/26) manufactured by Kolomensky Zavod.

According to the press service of Transmashholding, the new 1,103 kW diesel generator is specially designed for locomotive shunters and is provided with specific features to suit the kind of locomotives as regards as fuel and motor oil consumption, and reliability. The diesel overhaul life has been increased to 20 years.
