OREANDA-NEWS. The supervisory audit of the Ecological Management System of OJSC “ZSMK” on conformance to the requirements of the international standard ISO 14001 was completed at the Western-Siberian Metal Works (OJSC “ZSMK”), being a part of Evraz Group.

In June 2005, ZSMK was the first among the Russian metallurgical enterprises to receive the ecological certificate ISO 14001:2004.

The auditor check carried out by JSC “Bureau Veritas Russia” (Russian office of the oldest in the world independent certification body BVQI - Bureau Veritas Quality International) was the second one of a series of supervisory audits, which will be carried out at the enterprise annually according to conditions of certification.

During the audit, domain shop, aglo-calcareous manufacture, motor transportation management, central factory laboratory, oxygen manufacture, specialized power laboratory, department of wildlife management, department of quality management, department of metrology, range of firm household waste, and also management on personnel and management of social objects have been checked up. The special attention has been paid to the analysis of documentation, direct supervision over activity on workplaces, conversations with heads of divisions and the personnel.

The result of the audit was acknowledgement of conformity of the ecological management system of OJSC “ZSMK” to the international standards ISO 14001:2004.
