OREANDA-NEWS. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (OJSC “MMK”) summed up its industrial results for October and ten months of 2006.

According to the information and public relations department of OJSC “MMK”, in October MMK produced 136.9 thousand tons of ready ore, 825,5 thousand tons of agglomerate, 429.3 thousand tons of coke, 761.3 thousand tons of iron. Melt of steel made 1 million 86.6 thousand tons, rolled products output – 1 million 38.6 thousand tons. Also, 979.9 thousand tons of commodity metal products were made in October.

The share of export in the structure of shipment of metal products by OJSC “MMK” made 42.3% in October 2006.

Since early this year, production of basic kinds of production at OJSC “MMK” made: 1 million 202 thousand tons of ready ore (93.1% against the same period of 2005), 9 million 63,8 thousand tons of agglomerate (107.2%), 4 million 623 thousand tons of coke (100.1%), 8 million 188.5 thousand tons of pig iron (103%), 10 million 273. thousand tons of steel (109.4%), 9 million 962.2 thousand tons of rolled products (109.9%). Output of the commodity metal products for ten months of this year has made 9 million 331.9 thousand tons (111%).

Export share in the amount made 46.4% of metal products (for ten months of 2005 – 50%).

OJSC “MMK” keeps leading positions on production of the basic kinds of products among the domestic metallurgical companies. For ten months of 2006, Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works produced 19.4% of all-Russian volume of commodity metal products. Share of OJSC “MMK” in the Russian steel production made 17.6%.
