Pipe Prices to Grow by 5% at Least in First Quarter 2007
OREANDA-NEWS. In the first quarter of 2007, the price on pipes will grow by 5 % at least.
According to the press centre of RUMSS, such forecast were voiced during the round table “Spot market of steel pipes: condition and prospects of development”, held at the office of the Russian Union of Metal and Steel Suppliers.
According to Pavel Peljugin, general director TH “Uraltrubostal” and member of the Board of RUMSS on the pipe production market, the price is inevitable to grow, first of all, because of inflation predicted in the next year by 8 %, and secondly, by virtue of planned increase of tariffs for transportations of cargoes and electric power. Certainly, pipe producers will compensate increase of cost of services of natural monopolies. Besides, in the third and fourth quarters of this year there was a rise in prices on billets for manufacture of seamless pipes which also “will be won back" in the beginning of the next year.
Approximately 30 representatives of the companies-manufacturers and suppliers of pipe production, the basic players of the market supervising approximately 98 % of manufacture and deliveries of pipe production to the national market participated in the work of a round table: TMK, OMK, CHTPZ Group, holding ESTAR, TH Severstal-Invest, TH “Uraltrubostal”, Agrisovgaz, DiPOS, Metallservis, etc. Carrying out of a thematic meeting now is relevant, as right now formation of budgets of the companies for the next year is being underway.
