Second Hull of Dry-Cargo Ship Project Azolla Was Launched at Astrakhan III Int. Shipyard
OREANDA-NEWS. The second hull of the river-going dry-cargo ship project Azolla, built for Rensen Shipbuilding B.V., was launched at Astrakhan III International Shipyard, MNP Group. The hull was keel-laid in April, 2006; the ship was named "Navitas".
Contract for construction of two hulls was concluded in summer of 2005, for the third hull – in December, 2005. Basic characteristics: length is 135 m, breadth – 14.2 m, depth – 4.8 m. The hull has been constructed in accordance with the drawings, certified by Bureau Veritas.
The dry-cargo ship project “Azolla” is intended for transportation of general, bulky cargoes, including grains, fertilizers, timber, international standard containers.
