OREANDA-NEWS. For the first 9 months of 2006 SUEK enterprises produced 63.4 million tons of coal, up 10% from the same period last year. According to the press service of SUEK, coal sales grew 11% to 59.8 million tons.

Domestic sales volume was up 4%: Russian consumers received 42.9 million tons of SUEK coals, of which 30 million tons was shipped to utilities.

Export shipments increased 33% to 16.9 million tons.

UK, Japan, and South Korea remain the main consumers of SUEK export coals. During the past 9 months SUEK substantially increased shipments to China and Poland.
