OREANDA-NEWS. For January-September 2006, Guryevsk Metal Works (GMZ) produced 150 thousand tons of steel, having increased production by 8.4% in comparison with the same period of the last year.

According to the press service of GMZ, also 143.5 thousand tons of section rolled products was made for nine months, or 6.1% more than parameter for January-September 2005. Manufacture steel crashing spheres from has made 57 thousand tons the beginning of this year.

In September, GMZ produced 16,2 thousand tons of steel, 16,1 thousand tons of section rolled products and 4,9 thousand tons steel spheres.

In the first decade of September scheduled repair of the second martin furnace during which fire-resistant materials of new generation, so-called plastic refractory products were applied, has been lead. According to the experts, application of these materials will allow to increase productivity of the furnace, to raise stability of production and also to lower the charge of fuel almost by 10 %.
