OREANDA-NEWS. According to the preliminary data, in January-September 2006, the Ukrainian enterprises of mining-metallurgical complex raised output of the basic kinds of metal products by 7-8 % in comparison with the same period of the last year, having reduced manufacture of coke and hardware.

According to Interfax-Ukraine, output of finished rolled metal and pig-iron for nine months of 2006 increased by 8 % - up to accordingly 25,556 million tons and 24,387 million tons, while melt of steel - by 7 %, up to 30,369 million tons.

Manufacture of hardware reduced by 1 % to 318 thousand tons, coke - by 0,4 % to 14,123 million tons. Deliveries of scrap metal to the Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises increased by 8 % - up to 4,890 million tons. Output of pipes has increased by 12 % up to 1,933 million tons.

For nine months, the mining enterprises have increased manufacture of iron ore by 7 % - up to 54,088 million tons, iron ore concentrate - by 7 % up to 41,903 million tons. Volumes of manufacture of prepared iron ore raw material has increased by 5 % up to 50,765 million tons, including pellets - by 16 % up to 15,288 million tons, agglomerate - by 1 % up to 35,478 million tons.

The representative of the Ministry of Industrial Policy has noted that in case of preservation of existing rates of growth of volumes of manufacture, in 2006  Ukraine will increase volume of production of finished rolled products by 6 % - up to 34,169 million tons in comparison with 2005, steel - by 5 %, up to 40,603 million tons, pig-iron - by 6 %, up to 32,605 million tons, pipes - by 13 %, up to 2,584 million tons, iron ore - by 5 %, up to 72,315 million tons, iron ore concentrate - by 6 %, up to 56,024 million tons, volumes of manufacture of prepared iron ore raw material by 4 % - up to 67,873 million tons, including pellets - by 17 %, up to 20,440 million tons, and output of agglomerate will be kept at the level of the last year – 47.433 million tons.

It is also expected that the volume of deliveries of scrap metal to the metallurgical enterprises will increase by 3 % - up to 6,538 million tons, and manufacture of coke will be kept at the level of the last year in 18,883 million tons.

In 2005, Ukraine has increased manufacture of finished rolled products by 0,5 % - up to 32,183 million tons, having reduced manufacture of steel by 0,2 % to 38,636 million tons, pig-iron - by 1 % to 30,773 million tons, hardware - by 7 % to 440 thousand tons, coke - by 14 % to 18,858 million tons, deliveries of scrap metal to the metallurgical enterprises were reduced by 8 % to 6,370 million tons. At the same time, manufacture of pipes has grown by 13 % - up to 2,293 million tons.

In 2005, the mining enterprises have increased manufacture of iron ore by 5 % - up to 68,539 million tons, including iron ore concentrate - by 5 %, up to 52,961 million tons. At the same time, the volume of manufacture of prepared iron ore raw material increased by 3 % - up to 64,969 million tons, pellets - by 7 %, up to 17,450 million tons, agglomerate - by 2 %, up to 47,520 million tons.
