OREANDA-NEWS. In the third quarter of 2006, SUAL Group increased production of bauxite by 6.4% up to 1 million 603.5 thousand tons from 1 million 506.8 thousand tons in the third quarter of 2005.

For the first nine months of 2006, the Group's enterprises extracted 4.5 million tonnes of bauxite, an increase of 13.4% as compared to January-September 2005.

According to the press service of SUAL, the foundation for such positive dynamics was a considerable growth in production levels at the Middle Timan bauxite deposit, which exceeded the figures for the same period last year by more than one-third. A high level of production was also preserved at North Ural Bauxite Mine (SUBR), where Novo-Kalyinskaya Mine had been launched in August of last year.
