OREANDA-NEWS. In Jan.-Sept. 2006, the Yenakievo Metallurgical Plant, YMZ, raised production of finished steel by 15.5% from the corresponding period in 2005 to reach 1.860 mn tons, of steel up by 13.6% to 1.885 mn tons, of pig iron up by 14.2% to 1.633 mn tons, reducing production of agglomerate by 8.1% down to 1.599 mn tons. 

According to Interfax-Ukraine report, YMP September production stood at 200,000 tons of finished steel, 183,000 tons of steel, 163,000 tons of pig iron and 141,000 tons of agglomerate.

In 2005, YMP cut production of finished steel yoy by 4% to 2.180 mn tons, of steel down by 8.5% to 2.254 mn tons, of pig iron down by 10.8% to 1.948 mn tons, raising production of agglomerate byh 10.9% to 2.395 mn tons.
